Heavy goods vehicle (HGV) levy

The logistics sector plays a key role in the mobility of the Netherlands. Smart data is of great importance in this. That's why NDW supports this sector with high-quality data and practical solutions, making logistics more efficient, sustainable, and future-proof.

Public and private collaboration

From separate platforms to a single central source
In collaboration with road managers and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, NDW is working on a central location for logistics data. By bringing together data from different sources – such as George, Melvin, and traffic information – a clearer and more reliable picture of what's happening on the road emerges.

In the future, we will expand this with multimodal data, for example, from waterways and railways. NDW actively advises on combining and applying these datasets in practice.

Value for Partners

By integrating logistics data within George, road authorities don't have to do double work. By making changes centrally, you work more efficiently. The transition from the Matrixian tool to NDW should lead to more usable and better-recorded data that aligns better with existing NDW services.

Value for residents

Logistics data is only valuable when you combine it with other datasets, such as road geometry, traffic rules, and roadworks. This leads to better navigation, less delay, and lower emissions. The result: a safer, cleaner, and more reliable logistics network.

Applications

NDW makes logistics data accessible through multiple tools and formats:

Future expansions (2024/2025) include, amongst other things:

  • Loading and unloading areas
  • Window times
  • Parking spaces and parking restrictions
  • Avoid routes
  • Dangerous substances
