Advanced Analytics and Policy Analysis
With Advanced Analytics, we make smart use of historical traffic data and the latest analytical techniques. This gives governments insights to better support, evaluate, and adjust policies. We collect the data, among other ways, through counting points and floating car and bike data.
Public and private collaboration
Through collaboration with governments, knowledge institutions, and market players, NDW develops applications that contribute to evidence-based mobility policy. Together, we are working on innovative analysis tools, including Dexter, to make insights accessible and usable.
Value for Partners
With historical traffic data, you can better prepare and subsequently justify policy plans without the need for additional measurement setups. Partners gain insight into trends such as traffic intensity, vehicle distribution, or speed developments.
Value for residents
Residents experience the consequences of traffic decisions daily. By using existing data, municipalities can respond quickly and effectively to neighbourhood concerns, such as those about cut-through traffic or speed. This leads to greater transparency and clear policies.
Applications
Dexter
A key application within this theme is Dexter – the NDW's historical traffic database, containing data from 2010 up to a few hours ago. You can find speeds, intensities, travel times, bridge openings, incidents, and cycling data there.
